We would like to take this opportunity to sincerely thank the organising committee of the Darren Mills 5k and the Scoil Mhuire Parents Association for their generous funding our our new Playframe in the school yard. The children love it.

A big welcome to our Junior Infants Isabelle, Ciara, Oisín and Daisy. We hope you will all be very happy with us here in Scoil Mhuire 🙂

We would like to wish our past pupil Daniel O Donnell  the very best of luck in Strictly Come Dancing.

By the end of this school year we hope to have been awarded our 4th Green Flag from the Green Schools Programme & An Taisce. The students have already done a lot of work on the current theme which is travel. Some of the children in the senior class carried out a ‘Walkability’ audit in order to establish the safest route for people who wish to walk or cycle to school. We actively encourage our students to walk or cycle to school and for those who live a bit too far away we introduced the system of ‘Park & Stride’ – this means parents can drive as far as the local hall, park there and walk the last bit to school. For those who cannot do this every day we ask them to try to participate WoW (walk on Wednesdays) & CoW (Cycle on Wednesdays).

We would like to congratulate Eoin Martin who was selected to take part in the mini 7’s competition in Croke Park at half-time during the All Ireland Final this Sunday. We are very proud of Eoin’s achievement here at Scoil Mhuire. Good Luck Eoin and enjoy the experience.

In 2014 we were awarded our third Green Flag, which was based on the theme of Water Conservation. The children worked very hard on this project and especially enjoyed our Blue Day during which we did lots of different experiments involving water. We were delighted that a former principal of the school Mrs Mary Logue agreed to raise our third flag for us. We have already started work on our fourth flag which is based on the theme of Travel.
