Congratulations to our quiz teams who did very well in the Rosses Credit Union Quiz in January. Our junior team of Erin, Ella, Fionn and Dylan were second in their section. We had two teams in the senior section. Team A: Jamie, Owen, Holly and Zach came first in their section and Team B: Katie, Lexie, Orla and Lexie claimed third place. Team A now progress to the county final in Letterkenny.
Monday the 1st of February is the feast of St. Brigid and this year we also celebrated Grandparents Day on that date, as part of Catholic Schools Week. The day started with mass in St. Mary’s church after which we were joined in the school by lots of parents and grandparents to make St. Brigid’s Crosses, which were later blesses by Fr. Ward. After a very productive hour of weaving rushes into beautiful crosses of all shapes and sizes there was lots of delicious home-baking for everyone to enjoy with their cup of tea! On Thursday 17th December we had our Christmas Show, which was a huge success. The first half of our show was our take on Strictly Come Dancing. As well as some fantastic group dances we had some very brave and talented students who danced as couples much to the delight of our audience. The second half had a bit of variety with some fun songs, a Nativity Sketch with a difference and a lovely selection of Christmas songs to finish off. Thank you to all the children for their hard work and practice in putting this show together and a big thank you to everyone who came along to see the show.
