Monday the 1st of February is the feast of St. Brigid and this year we also celebrated Grandparents Day on that date, as part of Catholic Schools Week. The day started with mass in St. Mary’s church after which we were joined in the school by lots of parents and grandparents to make St. Brigid’s Crosses, which were later blesses by Fr. Ward. After a very productive hour of weaving rushes into beautiful crosses of all shapes and sizes there was lots of delicious home-baking for everyone to enjoy with their cup of tea!
