Forest School

After the disappointment of not being able to start our Forest School as planned in February, we were very excited to get out into the ‘Great Outdoors’ when we returned from our Easter break.

Forest School is an inspirational process that offers all learners regular opportunities to achieve and develop confidence and self-esteem through hands-on learning experiences in a woodland or natural environment with trees. By participating in engaging, motivating and achievable tasks and activities each participant has an opportunity to foster resilience and develop holistically whilst building a strong, positive relationship with their natural world.

Taking a well earned rest

Seachtain Na Gaeilge 2019

Rinne muid ceiliúradh ar Seachtain na Gaeilge ón 11ú go dtí an 15ú Márta. Bhí go leor spórt agus spraoi ag gach duine le linn na seachtaine agus muid ag déanamh ar ndicheall an Gaeilge a labhairt agus a chur chun chinn. Bhí imeachtaí éagsúla ar siúl gach lá, cosúil le Tráth na gCeist, Seó Tallan, Comórtas Ealaíne agus Céilí agus bhí sé le feiceail go soiléir gur bhainn na páistí an sult ar fad as.

Ba é priomh téama an seactain na Scéalaíocht. D’ullmhaigh na scoláirí sinsir scéal gach lá chun cuir i láithir do na páistí sóisearach le meascán
léitheoireacht agus aisteoireacht. Rinne siad Na Trí Mhuicín, An Fear Sinséar, Luaithríona agus Cinnín Óir agus Na Trí Bhéar.

Bronnadh duaiseanna ar Gaeilgoirí na Seachtaine.

Ukulele lessons

The Parents Association have been ‘instrumental’ in getting Mary Rodgers into the school to teach the children how to play the Ukulele. While some of the children already had a bit of experience in playing the Ukulele or Guitar most of them are pure beginners, but even after just a couple of weeks they have impressed us with how well they can play.

St Bridget’s Day 2019

On Friday 1st of February we celebrated both St Bridget’s Day and Grandparents Day. We invited grandparents and parents to join us in making St. Bridget’s Crosses which Fr. Pat kindly blessed for us. Check out our Gallery page for more photographs.
